When I look back on these photos, I can still feel the sun on my face, the echo of the waves crashing near, the sound of the saxophone player during cocktail hour and the cheers from all around. This is one day i’ll never forget. I’ve been edging to share David & Jane’s wedding from back in September when they brought me over to Portugal to shoot their very intimate wedding in The Algarve. Their idea of a wedding is honestly for me, what it’s all about. Having your nearest and dearest with you, somewhere very beautiful and warm, with great food and heavenly wine, breathing in the sea air from the Mediterranean enjoying your celebration on a beach front restaurant.
The evening before the wedding, I shot their engagement shoot, which was really a lovely chance to Let David & Jane relax in front of the camera, and I definitely know they felt much more relaxed on the wedding day as a result! Jane decided to get married in the Cacela Velha, she seen it years ago with friends when cycling and always remembered how beautiful the little town was, sitting above the sea. When the ceremony was over we went on a little tour of the country, coming across the most botanical olive tree garden, then stopping on a dirt road as the was setting (Image below). It was at this moment my heart skipped a beat and I thought to myself how blessed I was to have been given this opportunity to photograph two of the nicest people. Also a little thank you to my very good friend Catherine for coming with me and keeping me sane while trying to drive on the opposite side of the road!

“I detest being photographed! So much so I had initially insisted on having no photos taken at my wedding! Something my sister (& plenty others) just couldn’t comprehend!
